  1. Dear Birhanu Digafe,
As a frequent listener to “College Time” I appreciate the effort you are making to provide information and some times provide solutions to academic related issues/concerns. Accordingly, I want you to make a research or enquire on how our colleges operate. Are they democratic or the reverse. Specifically, my question is related to Kotebe Metropolitan University.
1st. Their web page do not work. As a new entrant to KMU you need to communicate or register online. The web page doesn’t work. Check by yourself.
2nd. When you visit the college in person no one gives you appropriate responses to to your enquires-whether you are a student or a parent. For example my daughter after registration asked staff (large number of academic staff)-none of them gave her the date or the week -simply said come and ask.
Note that my earlier question was related to the availability of DORM FACILITIES TO ADDIS ABABA STUDENTS WHO ARE FROM THE OTHER CORNER OF THE KMU. You know that the College is located at KOTEBE while some students reside let us say Karakore or Ayertena-Alembank (kolfe keraniyo KK). You have to travel about 40 km one way or 70-80 km round trip. Under the current transport condition you have to spend 6-8 hours on the road. In another perspective you have to pay about Birr 80-100 per day. How much time do students spend on academic matters. They are simply act as a BOSS who live in another world. Do not listen to reason. Is this the way how learning changes behavior? From all perspective what do new entrants- young students learn from the situation.
